• In a response to the debate of the militarization of local police, President Obama has issued an executive order banning the Pentagon and other federal agencies from sending police departments certain military-style hardware.
• There are reports gang members involved in Sunday’s shooting at the Twin Peaks restaurant in Waco, Texas, may return to the area, but police say they are prepared. Police say the fight erupted over a parking issue, starting inside and quickly escalating to the parking lot with chains, clubs, and firearms.
• The National Transportation Safety Board said forensic experts from the FBI “found no evidence of damage that could have been caused by a firearm” on the windshield of the Amtrak locomotive which derailed in Philadelphia last week.
